"All of the songs I’ve released over time have been really important parts of my life, reflecting how I felt at each particular moment, including this one," says Thompson. "In all seriousness, I think I needed to write these songs for myself. I wasn’t thinking about who could understand or relate to them, I just knew I needed to hear them. That’s all I knew."

In keeping with the theme of resilience and hope, Thompson will join the Two Virginias One Mission Telethon Helping Hands; Healing Hearts Telethon tomorrow live from WVVA-TV in Bluefield, WV.  He will join other talents such as Vince Gill, Steve Earle, T. Graham Brown and many others to raise money for victims of the recent floods in areas close to Thompson's hometown.

About Noah Thompson
People may be familiar with Thompson as the winner of American Idol Season 20 (2022), his hit song “One Day Tonight” and countless accolades surrounding those, but the version of Thompson people have seen and heard is incomplete.  Thompson, who has garnered over 100 million streams across platforms, has become comfortable with showing all the cards in his hand and he’s determined to introduce everyone to who he was, who he is and who he is becoming.

These days, Thompson has made a lot of changes in his life, personal and professional.  Personally, he’s Dad to an almost 4-year-old son named Walker who is the catalyst for every decision he makes.  Professionally, he has taken complete control of his musical career and with two hands on the wheel has started to steer it in a much more honest and vulnerable direction.

As a songwriter, Thompson has exploded from not knowing how to write a song just two years ago to not only writing his own songs, he wrote the Luke Combs song “Front Door Famous” that appears on Luke’s 2024 album Fathers & Sons.  He has also found a voice he never knew he had and as a result, his sound has become that much more authentic.  Case in point is his new single “Upbringing,” a verbal, hauntingly honest autobiographical account of Thompson’s life, the tribute to a late friend song “Demons In My Whiskey,” the well-written relatable story of the daily struggle in “American Dream,” the hopeful and encouraging “Here Lately,” and his newest single “What You’re Made Of.” These songs are a big statement both musically as well as personally.

Fully intent on singing songs and cultivating an audience that can relate to his stories, it’s a rebirth.  Now a new man with a new beginning and fully in control of his creative path, Thompson is excited about his future.

NOAH THOMPSON CHRONICLES TUMULTUOUS CHILDHOOD IN MUSIC VIDEO FOR “UPBRINGING”

“AMERICAN DREAM,” SLATED FOR RELEASE ON FRIDAY, CONTINUES THE MUSICAL REBIRTH OF THOMPSON; KICKED OFF FALL TOUR IN GREENSBURG, KY ON SATURDAY

Nashville, TN (October 28, 2024) - Since embracing his independence as an artist, Noah Thompson’s emotional vulnerability has been at the forefront in his music. Case in point, his debut independent single “Upbringing” and the follow-up release “Demons In My Whiskey.” To continue facilitating a deeper connection with his fans, Thompson just released the music video for “Upbringing.” The music video, directed by Giovanne Gotay with Unveiled Productions, candidly reflects on Thompson’s childhood that was spent learning “survival” skills all the way to recent times in Thompson’s life when he was constantly making bad choices including bar fights and overusing alcohol.

“I knew the video for 'Upbringing' had to be real to my life,” says Thompson. “I had déjà vu filiming it because it was so real. But honestly, when I think back on those days and even watch them back in the video, I don't see those activities as bad things. It was just what we did to get by and was just normal to my family."

Thompson posted an early teaser of the video that has been viewed almost 4 million times on TikTok. View it here

Thompson’s new single “American Dream,” written by Chris Gelbudda, Steven Lee Olson and Daniel Tashian, is slated for release on Friday. The song powerfully captures the often-overlooked struggles that accompany the American dream. The poignant first verse highlights a family's turmoil as parents grapple with the financial burden of sending their daughter to rehab. Meanwhile, a man finds himself in a relationship marked by obligation rather than love, and a young woman battles food insecurity amidst crushing student loans. The narrative deepens as a soldier returns home, facing his demons alone, unable to access the VA services he desperately needs.

Thompson’s ability to address these harsh realities is both fearless and graceful, setting him apart in the genre. His yearning vocals soar over an acoustic backdrop, creating a heartfelt connection that will resonates deeply with listeners.
